Celebrating 60 Years of Grateful Dead: A Historic Return to Golden Gate Park
In August 2025, the Grateful Dead legacy returns to its roots with Dead & Company headlining a monumental three-night concert series at San Francisco’s iconic Golden Gate Park. This event commemorates the band's 60th anniversary and promises to be a historic celebration of music, community, and culture.
🎸 A Milestone Celebration
From August 1 to 3, 2025, Dead & Company—featuring original Grateful Dead members Bob Weir and Mickey Hart, alongside John Mayer, Jeff Chimenti, Oteil Burbridge, and Jay Lane—will perform at the Polo Fields in Golden Gate Park. Each night will feature a unique setlist, with opening acts including Billy Strings on August 1, Sturgill "Johnny Blue Skies" Simpson on August 2, and the Trey Anastasio Band on August 3.
🌉 A Return to Roots
Golden Gate Park holds a special place in Grateful Dead history. The band played at least 14 free shows there, starting with the 1966 Love Pageant Rally. Their final free show at the park's Lindley Meadows in 1975, known as Unity Fair, drew over 25,000 fans and remains a cherished memory for Deadheads.
🎟️ Ticket Information
Tickets for the Golden Gate Park concerts are in high demand, with prices ranging from $245 for single-day admission to over $9,000 for Super VIP weekend packages. Official ticket sales began on May 30, 2025, but resale platforms like StubHub have already seen prices surge.
